- To work as part of the Tonkin team, managing, effective technical delivery and comprehensively documented legal compliance of safe and legal new product.
- To work with the Tonkin NPD Manager and Directors to ensure that the NPD program is balanced with the strategic requirements of Tonkin Products, production capabilities and capacities of the suppliers and our available approved raw materials.
- To comprehensively risk assess all NPD and work effectively with the suppliers and relevant Tonkin teams to mitigate, or remove risk from the development process, be they process, raw material or compliance risks.
- To work with the broader NPD team to ensure that we utilize (as a preference) the approved raw material list and minimize risk of production disruption by using seasonal, hard to obtain or unreliable / unproven raw materials.
- When necessary and by exception only, to identify, specify, source, and deliver new raw materials which align with the ongoing values of Tonkin Products, and those of our customers. To minimize risks of their non-delivery / non-compliance.
- To prioritize full utilization of existing production capabilities, knowledge and raw materials, and work with the suppliers for transfer from kitchen to factory,
- To provide customer development samples and test samples as required and manage factory trials.
- To deliver new products which can be demonstrated to be safe via the development and implementation of an appropriate HACCP plan.
- To ensure the specification of the product will meet or exceed the customers’ requirements and expectations and allows consistent production to consistent quality.
- To work with the suppliers and the Tonkin NPD and Commercial teams to maximize profitability of any development for Tonkin Products
- To ensure on time delivery to the customer shelf with a minimum of cost and risk.
- To act as for specific customers, Account Manager and point of contact, when required to by the Board of Tonkin Products.

Yêu cầu công việc

- Minimum 10 years of experience working in value added food development
- Experience with auditing of international suppliers (Asia and Europe)
- Experience of International Markets, in particular UK
- Experience with UK and South African Food trends and development of products for these markets
- Excellent/Native English, experience working directly with foreign organizations
- Degree: Bachelor of Food Science with Industry Training, additional Camden Food Safety Training is a plus.
